Samsum Kashfi
was born in Estahban, Iran in 1955. His first poems were published in
his high school newsletter. In 1973, when he entered university, he
began his literary efforts by writing a series of literary reviews and
programs for radio. But poetry is his true love and he considers
himself an eternal student of the school of poetry. Kashfi immigrated
to Canada in 1987 and since then he has been very active in promoting
Iranian culture outside of the country and campaigning for freedom of
expression and thought in Iran.

Parsi (From
the Persian Sugar),
a glance at 1000 years of poetry in Iran. Excerpts of this book
were published in Shahrvand Publication in Toronto and
Vancouver on a weekly basis from 1996 to 1998. Zeen Ghand-e
Parsi briefly examines Persian poetry in the one thousand year
span beginning with the works of Abuhafs Soghdi and ending
with the works of Nima Yushish. (Unpublished)
